Junior/Graduate Trainee

Junior/Graduate Trainee required for a long established Fiduciary firm based in Gibraltar. The ideal candidate will possess good numerical skills, a proactive approach to learning, and the ability to work accurately within deadlines. This role is ideal for a recent accounting graduate or those looking to start their accounting career, A level students will be considered. Full study support is provided for candidates who wish to pursue a professional accounting qualification, including AAT or ACCA, as part of their career development with our client.

What You Will Be Doing

• Gather information and supporting documentation required for client accounts and tax filings in line with internal procedures
• Process transactions and journal entries and maintain accounting records
• Prepare annual accounts for a portfolio of clients, including Companies and Trusts over various jurisdictions
• Prepare basic tax computations and returns
• Assist with the processing of monthly payroll for clients, including data input and basic checks
• Respond to routine client queries and liaise with colleagues to ensure deadlines are met
• Carry out general admin tasks related to the client accounting function as required

What You Will Need to Succeed In This Role

• Basic understanding of accounting principles gained through study (eg recent graduate with an accounting degree) or limited practical experience
• Good numerical skills with a careful and methodical approach to work
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks under guidance and supervision
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and confidence using computer systems
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks to meet deadlines
• A positive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a team
