Head of Compliance required for an insurance company based in Gibraltar to ensure all applicable laws, regulatory requirements and guidelines are adhered to. The role will also be responsible for internal group policies and procedures in terms of the applicable legal frameworks for Gibraltar. The Head of Compliance will ensure our client achieves its strategic objectives by providing stakeholders with compliance advice and guidance that helps identify and mitigate the risk of poor customer outcomes. You will have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and a deep understanding of Gibraltar regulatory requirements, ideally you will already be an approved individual.

What You Will Be Doing
- Comply with relevant statutory, legislative, and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Solvency II, GFSC and FCA requirements.
- Create and maintain a Compliance Monitoring Plan, internal compliance logs, develop policies, internal compliance related procedures and guidelines and review of such documents.Â
- To be the primary point of contact with internal and external auditors for compliance and governance matters.
- Preparation and presentation of Compliance Reports to the Audit Risk and Compliance Committee and attendance to the Board when requested to discuss compliance and governance matters.
- Assist in the oversight and management of key third party and outsourcing arrangements to support the delivery of an effective Operational Resilience Plan.Â
- Ensuring Consumer Duty components are embedded into the business and an appropriate Conduct and Customer framework is in place.Â
- Assist in the development of the Risk Governance Framework, to deliver best practice ensuring that systems and processes are aligned with business needs, fit for purpose and embedded within the business.
- Contribute to the production of the ORSA, SFCR and RSR, administer and coordinate regulatory processes and submissions.
- Managing the GFSC application process, providing input into the pre application process and managing and coordinating the feedback with the GFSC throughout the application process.
What You Will Need to Succeed in This Role
- Significant regulatory compliance experience in the Gibraltar Insurance market.
- Ability to work with Board Members and Senior Management experience in deploying internal controls.
- Ability to leverage creative thinking and problem-solving skills to facilitate decisions and to ensure outcomes result in expected business value.
- Able to communicate across a varied business landscape at all levels of an organisation.
- Planning and organisational skills, including delivery of business change.
- To keep updated on regulatory themes/hot topics – and deal with these in proactive way.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to explain complicated concepts.
- Track record of good judgement, including decision making, escalation and referral.
- Evidence of working calmly under pressure and to deadlines.
