Assistant Accountant required for an established Fiduciary Services company based in Gibraltar. The role will be supporting the Client Accounting and Fund Accounting Teams. As the Assistant Accountant you will ideally be studying AAT (Level 2 attained, level 3) or qualified AAT or ACCA level 2 or similar. The role will be to provide support for the delivery of high-quality accounting services and will contribute to the overall success of the department. Candidates with relevant client accounting experience and not AAT qualified will also be considered.

What You Will Be Doing
- Providing support with day-to-day administration and assisting with all accounting procedures and processes
- Office and client account reconciliation
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable administration
- Fixed asset register and depreciation where required
- Petty cash processing and control
- Preparation and reconciliation for client bank accounts
- Daily use of Excel spreadsheets, databases, Microsoft Office products and accounting/practice management systems for the Company and the Client
- Calculating, checking, and analysing to ensure payments and receipts are correct before processing onto systems
- Raising queries and liaising with clients accordingly
- If supporting the Fund Accounting team, support to calculate NAVs (Net Asset Valuations) for Fund accounts purposes
- Undertake any other duties that are within the employee’s skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed by either the Client or Fund Accounting team leaders
What You Will Need to Succeed in This Role
- AAT part qualified or near qualifying or ACCA level 2 or 3
- Strong education background “A” levels and/or Degree would be an ideal
- Some knowledge and experience of accounting principles and practices (e.g. reconciliation and balances, accounting computer systems and ledgers, coding structures, payroll procedures)
- Strong knowledge of MS Office suite – Excel and Outlook essential
- Demonstrative organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Client orientated with the ability to handle highly confidential information and maintain discretion at all times
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative and effectively manage own time
- Able to work successfully as part of a team
