Chief of Risk (COR) required for an Internationally focussed Insurance company with an established base in Gibraltar. The role involves establishing and maintaining a robust risk framework, leading risk assurance and compliance monitoring, and ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements by the Gibraltar Regulatory Authorities. As Chief of Risk, you will ideally have been approved by the Gibraltar Regulator or the UK FCA/CRA and have proven experience in a senior risk capacity.

What You Will Be Doing
- Strategy and framework: Lead the planning and execution of risk assurance, risk consultation and aligning with the company’s risk exposure and strategy.
- Reporting and submissions: Oversee the timely and accurate completion of all regulatory filings and periodic returns.
- Risk management: Lead the ORSA process, ensuring its timely production and submission, and advising the Board on risk and conduct matters.
- Stakeholder management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with business managers and other risk and other risk teams to embed a strong risk culture across the organization.
- Policy and governance: Guide the development and implementation of risk and compliance policies and procedures. Play an active role in product governance decisions to ensure customer needs are met.
- Advisory: Support the Board and senior management in making informed decisions by providing expert advice on regulatory risk and conduct.
What You Will Need to Succeed in This Role
- Education: A relevant bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, eg Law, Business etc.
- Professional qualifications: Membership to a professional association would be an advantage, eg, ICA, IRM, AGRC.
- Experience: Extensive experience in a risk focused role, ideally within the insurance sector and with knowledge of the Gibraltar regulatory environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to partner with and challenge business leaders.
- Analytical skills to interpret regulatory requirements and assess risk.
- Strategic thinking and a proactive approach to risk management procedures.
