Compliance Manager required to work for an international insurance company with a significant base in Gibraltar. The Compliance Manager will support the compliance and governance framework, with a general focus on oversight of UK-based, FCA-regulated MGAs. As the Compliance Manager you will help to ensure all activities align with GFSC requirements, FCA standards, binder agreements and internal governance, supporting strong market conduct and evidenced strong customer outcomes.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Provide second-line oversight of delegated authority and conduct risk across UK MGAs.
  • Review and challenge management information, including Consumer Duty metrics, complaints and vulnerable customer outcomes.
  • Support delivery of the annual compliance monitoring plan and track remediation actions to completion.
  • Monitor regulatory developments (GFSC/FCA) and support impact assessments and implementation.
  • Provide delegated authority oversight of UK-based, FCA-regulated MGAs operating under underwriting and claims authorities.
  • Monitor MGA activity against binder terms and regulatory requirements using available MI (e.g., underwriting/claims bordereaux, conduct metrics and complaints data) and escalate issues and trends appropriately.
  • Escalate to the Senior Compliance Manager when MI is overly high-level or does not evidence good customer outcomes.
  • Support compliance with GFSC insurance regulatory requirements.
  • Support with the development and execution of the annual compliance monitoring plan.
  • Monitor regulatory developments from the GFSC and FCA, including supervisory commentary, and assist with impact assessments and required actions.
  • Draft, review and maintain compliance and delegated authority policies and procedures aligned to GFSC and FCA expectations.
  • Maintain key compliance registers (e.g., breaches, incidents, complaints, conflicts of interest, gifts and hospitality etc).
  • Provide day-to-day compliance support to internal stakeholders on MGA oversight, conduct risk and Consumer Duty.
  • Escalate Consumer Duty issues, conduct risks or regulatory concerns relating to UK MGAs in a timely, clear and proportionate manner.
  • Support onboarding of new UK MGAs, including compliance due diligence, FCA permissions checks, Consumer Duty capability assessments and governance reviews.

What You Will Need to Succeed in This Role

  • Ideally educated to Degree level with some relevant Insurance qualifications such as CII
  • A minimum of 5 to 6 years’ experience in a similar level role with ideally experience of motor insurance
  • Knowledge re assessment of MGA compliance with relevant UK FCA rules, including Consumer Duty.
  • Knowledge of how Consumer Duty MI prepared by the first line has been prepared to assess trends, performance metrics, customer support indicators and vulnerable customer outcomes and to recommend remediation where required
  • Experience of delivery of the annual compliance monitoring plan
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of a business
  • Focussed on company deliveries and working alongside the team
