Data Engineer to join a forward-thinking, global leader in management consulting based in Madrid.

We are seeking a Data Engineer for our clients Data Analytics Team. This role involves building data pipelines to the firm’s central data platform as well as development, testing and maintenance of said platform to ensure the availability, reliability, and integrity of data critical to the investment process. You will be working with the latest in fintech, AI and Quant.

Please note this role is office based, and Spanish would be an Advantage.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design and develop sophisticated data pipelines to import data from external vendors, sell-side partners, and other providers seamlessly into our central data platform.
  • Platform Development & Testing: Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our platform to ensure it aligns with ever-changing business requirements. Test the system regularly to confirm its effectiveness and perform troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Platform Maintenance & Data Reliability: Ensure our platform is well-maintained, enabling uninterrupted access to crucial data points. Continuously verify data quality and integrity essential for our investment process.
  • Continuous Improvement & Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline data accessibility and usability. Drive innovation by adopting advanced analytics technologies and methodologies.

What You Will Need to Succeed in This Role

  • 3-6 years of experience as a data engineer or a related role
  • Minimum 2.1 in degree obtained in Computer Science, or a related field, ideally from a Russell Group University or a top 10 University in Spain / EU
  • Hedge fund experience is highly desirable
  • Expertise in designing and building data pipelines
  • Proficient in SQL, Python, AWS and other data management technologies
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git and orchestration tools like Airflow
  • Ability to test and troubleshoot data platforms reliably. A track record of improving data reliability and quality
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-based environment
  • Please note the role is office based in Madrid 5 days a week
