IT Support Specialist sought to join a growing commercial office based in Gibraltar. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for offering support through various channels such as phone, email, and in-person and identifying and resolving hardware and software issues. It is ideal that you speak both Spanish and English, hold a valid driving licence and be flexible regarding working hours in case of emergencies.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve hardware and software issues. Provide timely solutions to ensure minimal disruption.
  • Technical Assistance: Offer support through various channels such as phone, email, and in-person. Assist users with software installations, configurations, and updates.
  • System Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance on computer systems and networks. Monitor system performance and perform necessary updates.
  • User Training: Educate users on software applications and best practices. Deliver training sessions to enhance user proficiency and reduce recurring issues.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed records of support requests, resolutions, and system configurations. Maintain accurate documentation for future reference and problem-solving.
  • Network Management: Oversee network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues. Ensure reliable network operations and address any network-related problems.
  • Security: Implement security protocols to protect data and systems. Respond to and manage security threats or breaches, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.

What You Will Need to Succeed in This Role

  • Technical Skills: Expertise in operating systems (365, Net2, Suprema), hardware components, and software applications. Familiarity with networking and cybersecurity principles.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently. Capability to troubleshoot and provide effective solutions under pressure.
  • Communication Skills: Extremely confident, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical users.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective support and documentation.
  • Organisational Skills: Efficiently manage multiple tasks and support requests. Maintain well-organized records and documentation to ensure smooth operations.
  • Education and experience: A Degree in Information Technology or a related field is often preferred.
  • Customer Service Skills: Provide high-quality customer service with problem solving approach with the ability to travel to meet the business needs.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide 1st – 3rd line support phone, email, and in-person channels. Assist users with software installations, configurations, and updates. Coordinate support efforts during system upgrades and deployments to ensure seamless transitions.
  • Identify and resolve hardware and software issues efficiently. Collaborate with teams to escalate or prioritize recurring problems as part of broader improvement initiatives. Ensure timely solutions to minimize business disruption.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on computer systems and networks. Monitor system performance, apply necessary updates, and support scheduled IT maintenance projects aligned with business objectives.
  • Educate users on software applications and IT best practices. Deliver training sessions and develop materials to improve user proficiency and reduce common support issues, especially during system rollouts or migrations.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records of support tickets, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions.
  • Document key system settings and configurations for reference. Contribute to knowledge base articles, user guides, and project/change documentation. Track IT assets, software licenses, and user access to support compliance and auditing processes.
  • Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues. Assist with network upgrades and configurations as part of structured IT projects, ensuring reliable and secure network operations.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols to safeguard systems and data. Respond to security incidents, support compliance with policies, and assist with security-related projects (e.g., MFA deployment, data loss prevention).
  • Support IT initiatives such as system upgrades, software rollouts, and hardware refreshes. Track assigned tasks, report on progress, and coordinate with stakeholders to help meet project milestones.
  • Assist in planning and communicating system changes to end users. Help gather feedback and monitor outcomes to ensure minimal disruption and successful adoption.
