Junior Payroll Assistant for a busy commercial company based in the thriving jurisdiction of Gibraltar. The Junior Payroll Assistant will provide administrative support to the payroll department, helping ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to start a career in payroll or finance, who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. The role involves liaising with HR, finance, and other internal teams to assist with payroll-related tasks. This position reports directly to the Payroll Manager.

- Working hours Monday to Thursday 08:00 – 16:30hrs, Friday 08:00 – 15:30hrs

What You Will Be Doing
Payroll Administration Support:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of payroll under guidance from senior payroll staff.
- Input and update employee information, including changes in job titles, salaries, or benefits.
- Help maintain accurate payroll records, such as timesheets, overtime, and leave balances.
- Perform payroll-related data entry with attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Support the team in maintaining organized and up-to-date payroll documentation.
- Assist in ensuring payroll processes comply with company policies and local regulations.
- Help prepare payroll reports for management and internal audits.
- Respond to basic payroll inquiries from employees and escalate more complex issues to senior team members.
- Assist with payroll onboarding processes to ensure new hires are correctly set up in payroll systems.
What You Will Need to Succeed in This Role
- Some experience or education in payroll, accounting, finance, or human resources administration is desirable but not essential.
- Fluent in English; additional fluency in Spanish is a plus.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with payroll systems (e.g., Sage, Microsoft) is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with colleagues and employees.
- Eagerness to learn and develop a career in payroll administration.
