Senior Financial Accountant sought for a leading international Insurance Company in Gibraltar. The role will be a key member of our client’s senior finance team and work alongside existing senior finance staff responsible for management of accounting, financial reports and regulatory reporting who ensure the company’s financial results are accurately recorded and fully analysed. The Senior Financial Accountant will report directly to the Finance Director based in Gibraltar.
Applicants must have 3 to 5 years Insurance accounting background, group accounting expertise and knowledge of Solvency II reporting to apply for this opportunity.

What You Will Be Doing
- Responsible for insurance underwriting system reconciliations
- Participate in quarterly closing process and group financial reporting
- Analyse results and assist with quarterly internal reporting to Executive Management, including but not limited to the production of quarterly management accounts
- Produce quarterly financial reports for the regulator and assist with the preparation of ad hoc analyses or information requests from the regulator
- Assist with Solvency II quarterly and annual reporting including aspects of quantitative, and qualitative reporting
- Ongoing interaction with colleagues on the Reinsurance and MGA teams to understand and analyse business
- Prepare quarterly group reporting disclosures and regulatory reporting inputs
- Development and maintenance of SOX documentation
- Act as point of contact for Internal and External auditors and assist the Finance Director with the timely production of the financial statements and conclusion of the annual audit
- Prepare ad-hoc analyses and financial reports as required by the CEO and Board of Directors
- Participate in key finance systems initiatives and implementations
What You Will Need to Succeed in This Role
- Professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACA) is required with a minimum of 6 – 8 years of post-qualification experience
- Experience of a minimum of 3 years in a similar role within an insurance entity required
- Proficiency in UK GAAP and/or IFRS for insurance and reinsurance
- Knowledge of SQL/database coding a distinct advantage
- Working knowledge of regulatory capital standards and reports including Solvency II
- Strong project management skills and demonstrated ability to deliver results under tight deadlines and competing objectives
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong communication skills in written and verbal formats, ability to communicate with a broad range of audiences including senior management and technical experts
- Strong inter-personal skills and willingness along with ability to function as member of a multi-disciplined, international team
